Fix Windows/x86 deallocation and sequence compatibility - #9427
Keep deferred object deallocation inside an active trashcan context. Previously, draining the queue could recursively start another drain and overflow the Windows stack while deleting a 500,000-deep Element tree.
Use the declared 64-bit PyHash width for tuple hashing on x86, rather than mixing 32-bit xxHash parameters with a 64-bit accumulator.
Raise MemoryError for oversized sequence repetition/allocation, matching CPython. The existing public helper name/signature is retained; this also corrects the shared array.fromfile size check.
Preserve long range iterator positions as locked BigInts instead of truncating them to usize. Clamp restored positions and keep exhausted iterators from wrapping back to their start.
Five Rust regression tests cover deferred-drain guards, tuple hash vectors, allocation overflow, arbitrary-precision iterator state, and exhausted counter wraparound. Existing Python assertions/data are unchanged, and source skip decorators remain unchanged.
Validation
Actual Windows x64 and optimized i686-pc-windows-msvc interpreters: all 17 modules below passed on each architecture (reported run=3,001, skipped=149): test_int test_range test_long test_float test_dict test_set test_hash test_sysconfig test_struct test_math test_xml_etree test_xml_etree_c test_gc test_list test_tuple test_deque test_array.
The existing 500,000-deep XML deepcopy test passed on x64 and x86 when unskipped only at runtime; native Element deletion was also checked on x64. The existing skipped range state/pickle-compatibility tests likewise passed when invoked at runtime on x86.
Additional Windows x64 path, selector, registry, SSL, shutil, tempfile, and console suites passed (9 files; reported run=2,244, skipped=613).
cargo test --workspace --exclude rustpython_wasm --exclude rustpython-venvlauncher --exclude rustpython-capi passed, including the new regression tests.
Workspace/all-targets Clippy with the same exclusions and -D warnings passed. Only the existing linker-messages warning remains, which is not governed by -D warnings.
Formatting, diff checks, all applicable pre-commit hooks, and focused pre-commit reviews passed.
Interpreter verification used optimized debug/test builds; a fresh LTO release build was not attempted with less than 2 GB free on the build drive. A separate C API test attempt remains blocked by LNK1181 (pythonXY.lib missing); its link setup is unchanged here.

Summary by CodeRabbit
Bug Fixes
Improved range iteration for very large ranges, including accurate state and length reporting beyond platform-sized limits.
Fixed exhausted range iterators so repeated calls do not advance or wrap their internal position.
Repetition counts that exceed the supported size now raise a memory error.
Improved cleanup behavior to prevent nested cleanup operations from interrupting deferred work.
Made tuple hashing consistent across 32-bit and 64-bit platforms.
Pin pymath to the merged CPython-compatible remainder implementation and remove the passing Windows expected-failure marker.
Investigation, implementation, and validation assisted by Codex.

Run deferred deallocators inside a guarded trashcan context so their end calls cannot recursively drain the same queue. Reset the depth on unwind and test the drain invariant. Fixes stack overflow while dropping deeply nested Element trees on Windows.

Use the declared 64-bit hash width for tuple hashing on every target, raise MemoryError for oversized sequence allocations, and preserve arbitrary-precision positions in long range iterators. Keep exhausted iterators exhausted instead of wrapping their counters.
Add Rust regression tests and verify the canonical Python suites with an optimized Windows x86 interpreter. Implementation, investigation, validation, and focused review assisted by Codex.

Update pymath revision Cargo.toml
The pymath Git dependency points to a new revision. Its enabled features are unchanged.
Tuple hashing
Layer / File(s)
Summary
Tuple hash parameters and tests crates/common/src/hash.rs
hash_tuple uses 64-bit xxHash parameters on all targets. Tests check results for empty input and sequences containing one or two zero hashes.
Range iterators
Layer / File(s)
Summary
Iterator index and state handling crates/vm/src/builtins/range.rs
Long range iterators use a mutex-protected BigInt index. State is clamped to the range length, with conversions between BigInt and usize for compact iterators.
Iterator advancement and exhaustion crates/vm/src/builtins/range.rs
Long iterator advancement stops at its length. Compact iterator advancement does not increment an exhausted index. Tests cover large long ranges and repeated calls after exhaustion.
Deferred deallocation draining
Layer / File(s)
Summary
Guard callbacks during queue draining crates/vm/src/object/core.rs
The drain loop sets the trashcan depth guard around each deferred callback and resets it afterward. Tests check callback depth and the final queue and depth.
Repetition overflow errors
Layer / File(s)
Summary
Repetition overflow result crates/vm/src/vm/vm_ops.rs
The overflow check returns MemoryError when a positive repetition count exceeds MAXSIZE. Tests cover negative counts, zero length, successful counts, and overflow.

Add a nonzero element hash to the tuple hash test.
Every element hash in tuple_hash_uses_the_declared_hash_width is zero. For a zero lane, lane.wrapping_mul(PRIME2) is zero at any lane width. PRIME2 is therefore never effectively exercised, and a lane truncation (element_hash? as PyUHash narrowed to 32 bits) would still pass. Add a vector with a nonzero element hash, such as -2. A truncation would drop its high bits. Take the expected value from the current 64-bit implementation.
The existing vectors still catch a reverted 32-bit constant selection. The empty-tuple vector depends on PRIME5, and the [0] vector depends on ROTATE and PRIME1.

Add a tuple-hash test vector with a nonzero element hash, such as -2, to
tuple_hash_uses_the_declared_hash_width and use the expected result from the
current 64-bit implementation so the test detects lane truncation.
Add a test that reaches the long-range branch through PyRange::iter.
The new regression tests build PyLongRangeIterator and PyRangeIterator directly and never call PyRange::iter. The long-range branch in PyRange::iter (crates/vm/src/builtins/range.rs:545-551) constructs the iterator with a PyMutex<BigInt> index. A regression in that construction or in the isize branch selection would leave the new tests passing.
Add a test that creates a PyRange whose stop is outside isize, calls PyRange::iter on it, advances the returned iterator, and checks the yielded values. This exercises branch selection and construction, which the current tests do not.
The current branch selection is correct. This is a coverage gap, not a defect.

Add a regression test that creates a PyRange with a stop value outside the isize
range, calls PyRange::iter, advances the returned iterator, and verifies the
yielded values. This should exercise the long-range branch selection and
PyLongRangeIterator construction, rather than constructing either iterator
directly.
Add a negative-state test for the lower clamp in range_state.
The new test restores length - 1, which lies inside [0, length]. Removing the lower clamp therefore leaves this test passing. Without the clamp, __setstate__(-1) makes __length_hint__() return length + 1 instead of length. The suggested test detects that regression.

Review comment at @crates/vm/src/builtins/range.rs around lines 774 - 776:
Add a negative-state test alongside the existing range iterator state tests. Use
`PyLongRangeIterator` with a large `length`, restore state `-1` through
`__setstate__`, and assert that `__length_hint__` equals the original length,
verifying the lower clamp in `range_state`.
Add a multi-entry drain case to the trashcan test.
The test queues only one deferred entry, and its callback never defers. A drain loop that pops only one entry still empties the queue, so the test passes. Queue at least two entries after the depth limit is reached, call end() until depth returns to 0, count the callback invocations, and assert that every queued entry ran and that the queue ends empty.
A callback that queues another object does not cover this case without deep nesting. During a drain, depth is 1, so the callback needs about 49 nested begin calls before its own begin defers.
