I have a module
https://github.com/heuermh/dishevelled-bio/tree/master/protein

with JAXB and also SAX-based parsers for the UniProt XML format. Would such be a welcome code contribution to biojava?

    Definitely! that would be most welcomed. I guess it is most appropriate in the biojava-core module
