Closed

Description

@0-wiz-0

After updating cython in pkgsrc to 3.3.0, the build of zeroconf 0.150.0 starting showing the following error:

[ 1/18] Cythonizing src/zeroconf/_cache.py

Error compiling Cython file:
------------------------------------------------------------
...

    def names(self) -> list[str]:
        """Return a copy of the list of current cache names."""
        return list(self.cache)

    def async_mark_unique_records_older_than_1s_to_expire(
    ^
------------------------------------------------------------
src/zeroconf/_cache.py:325:4: Signature not compatible with previous declaration

Error compiling Cython file:
------------------------------------------------------------
...

    @cython.locals(service_record=DNSService)
    cdef void _async_remove(self, DNSRecord record)

    @cython.locals(record=DNSRecord, created_double=double)
    cpdef void async_mark_unique_records_older_than_1s_to_expire(self, cython.set unique_types, object answers, double now)
                                                                ^
------------------------------------------------------------
src/zeroconf/_cache.pxd:80:64: Previous declaration is here

The full signature in the .py file is:

    def async_mark_unique_records_older_than_1s_to_expire(
        self,
        unique_types: set[tuple[_str, _int, _int]],
        answers: Iterable[DNSRecord],
        now: _float,
    ) -> None:

I'm not sure what cython needs to fix this.

    I have ~25 projects that need changes for this release. I'll get a new one out in the next week or so to support it

    #1820 should fix it but github is having an outage with actions right now so its not running

    #1820 will fix it but still can't merge it because PSR is broken because of the git-python breaking changes that were released in the last few days so we need to wait for that to be fixed upstream before we can do a release

    Thank you! I can confirm that #1820 fixes the problem for me - I've added the patch to pkgsrc.

    Looks like we should be able to release tomorrow python-semantic-release/python-semantic-release#1477 (comment)
