📚 Update Contribution Documentation to include references to using & extending Makefiles #613

To ensure that every contributor can start contributing a quickly as possible the contributing docs should be updated after the Makefiles are added to scanner (#477) and hooks (#478) to ensure that new contributors can try them out as quickly as possible.
